Ray Of Light
We know it’s been incredibly difficult to plan your wedding, especially with all of the on-going uncertainty over the past 16 months. The last few announcements have brought a most welcome new ray of light, hope and positivity.
Yours & Ours
Health, yours, and ours, is a priority. With this in mind, and after much consideration, we will not be hosting any face-to-face consultations over the coming months. However, we are more than happy to arrange a phone call or Zoom call to talk through all your floral plans and finalise ideas.
Please bear in mind that phone call/zoom appointments will be extremely limited, and we ask that you try to be as flexible as possible with dates and times. We’re currently juggling 14 months of postponed weddings, including this year’s weddings and fitting them all into one wedding season.

In the event that you would like to reschedule your wedding or event date due to COVID-19 please let us know as soon as possible. We recommend checking our availability before confirming your new wedding date with the venue. As per our Terms & Conditions, final payments are due 4 weeks prior to the wedding date. If you let us know of a rescheduling before this date there will be no additional costs and all monies paid (the non-refundable booking fee) will be moved to secure the new date.
Sourced, Packed & Shipped
We have a 4 week cut off as flowers and foliage need to be pre-ordered specifically for your event. Blooms are sourced, packed and shipped from British Columbia, Holland and the USA; they need this time frame to arrive in the UK prior to your wedding day.
If you reschedule your wedding within 4 weeks of our wedding date, there will be additional expenses incurred that we will need to pass on to you. We do have a flower shop, so we will do our best to resell unneeded flowers to the public. Alternatively, we'd be happy to make mock ups of your wedding bouquet or centrepieces with these flowers or deliver them to someone on your behalf to brighten their day. Our wholesalers have also been working with multiple cancelled events and extra product that they, as small businesses like us, can't absorb either
We continue to work closely with our trusted fresh flower and foliage suppliers to provide you with the most beautiful blooms from around the world for your upcoming wedding, On occasions we may need to ask you to be flexible with your flower varieties if airlines and ground freight of flowers become limited or borders are closed due to the ongoing Brexit situation. Also, some flower varieties may become scarce and see a shortage of supply as flower farms and wholesalers are battling with sale and demand in the coming weeks.
Please also keep in mind that if you have rescheduled to 2021/2022 or are thinking of rescheduling, the cost of flowers will also be higher as the market price of flowers increases every year. We may need to substitute some flowers or change around the designs in order to stay within your current budget.
Additionally we strongly suggest getting wedding insurance which helps cover costs if your wedding needs to be cancelled last minute. Wedding insurance will not cover the current situation with COVID-19 but is a good idea at anytime as you never know when something might happen that will disrupt your plans.
We will work with each couple on a case by case basis to talk over your next steps if needed. Please reach out to us if you'd like to talk about COVID-19 or just want to chat flowers, weddings and other happy things!
If you are recently engaged and haven't booked your flowers yet we are still taking bookings for Autumn and Winter 2021 as well as Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter 2022. (Please note our 2023 calendar isn’t available until Winter 2021)
If you are still planning a wedding for 2021 it is highly recommended that you book your wedding suppliers ASAP, securing them with a Booking Fee. Don't be afraid to ask suppliers what their postponing policies look like in case the pandemic lasts longer.
Meeting us... virtually!
Whilst we are not able to offer face to face consultations at our shop, we are carrying out all initial consultations over email. We are also more than happy to arrange a suitable time to chat on the phone or over Zoom to meet you and discuss all things floral!
Below is our new virtual consultation process and a guide as to what to expect when choosing to work with us! Please bear with us getting back to you, we have a high volume of couples needing our attention who are getting married imminently.
01 - Get In Touch
We love to hear your wedding plans and talk all things floral!
The quickest way to find out if we can be there for you on your special day is to complete our 'We're Getting Married' Enquiry Form. We’ll ask you for some details about your upcoming wedding including your date and venue. We'll then get back to you, as soon as we can, to let you know if we’re lucky enough to have that date free.
02 - Consultation
The purpose of the consultation is really to get to know each other better. It is so important that you choose a florist who inspires you and whom you trust. Similarly, we get to understand your likes, dislikes, ideas and inspiration.
This initial consultation will be over email. We will ask you to email over any images you have seen and love (don’t forget to share your Pinterest Board with us too!)
We will go through all your floral requirements from the bouquet to your reception plans. We will offer styling advice and suggestions as well as discussing flower varieties and their particular seasonal availability.
03 - Styling Brief & Costings
Once we have an idea of your requirements and quantities, you will receive a detailed bespoke costing email which will itemise each element of your desired wedding day florals, a ‘Flower and Foliage Recipe’, styling suggestions and ideas and layout options. This is of course just a starting point and nothing is set in stone at this stage.
04 - Love us? Book us!
You will also be provided with details to confirm your booking. If you love what you see, you can pay a booking fee, so that your wedding date is secured in our diary. Once your wedding date is secure, we will discuss, share inspiration and make adjustments where required throughout the build-up to your big day.
A booking fee is required to secure your wedding date.
05 - Finalising The Detail
A little over a month before your wedding day (6-8 weeks) we will have a detailed meeting via phone call, Zoom email, to chat through all of your final floral styling requirements, as well as discussing timing and logistics. This is your opportunity to make any last-minute changes no matter how big or small. We will then send a fully itemised invoice which will allow you to check everything off.
Our Wedding Florists are at your disposal to answer any questions you have, and to ensure you feel 'wedding ready' - prepared, inspired and bubbly with excitement!
06 - Four Weeks To Go
Following your final meeting you will be required to pay the full balance for your fabulous florals. This will allow flowers to be ordered and paid for. Payment can be made via by bank transfer, credit or debit card or cash.
07 - Hydrate & Flourish
2-4 days to go; Your wedding flowers will arrive at The Topiary Tree HQ and will be unpacked, conditioned and placed in water for at least 24 hours in order to allow the flowers to hydrate and bloom. It is vital that flowers are given this opportunity to flourish so that they are at their optimum on the morning of your wedding day.
1 day to go; The day before you wedding, our Florists are creating all your florals.
08 - The Big Day
You're in safe hands. On your wedding morning our Wedding Florists will personally deliver, arrange and set up all of your finished florals and décor. We will coordinate with any other suppliers on the day as required and ensure that everything is arranged exactly the way you dreamed it would be.
We will then hand deliver your bouquet to you as you get ready, wishing you love and luck as you start this exciting next chapter of your life.
09 - The Day After
Congratulations ... you're a newly married couple!! Your beautiful wedding flowers are yours to keep and enjoy with your loved ones.
If you have used any of our vases, vessels, hired items, they will need returning to us within 3 working days (Unless agreed otherwise)
We do offer a collection service for the following day; we will arrive early at the venue to collect all hired items - We like to think this gives you one less thing to think about! (Talk to our Wedding Florists about this option and travel fees)
Love & Hugs
We want to reassure every couple that they don’t need to have an extensive (or indeed any) knowledge of flowers in order to achieve something that is truly beautiful and bespoke to them. Many couples feel nervous articulating how they would like their wedding flowers to look but with careful planning and communication we are confident that you will be thrilled with what we come up with together.
